Structure of the Wiesbaden Geriatric Network - GeReNet.Wi
The Wiesbaden Network for Geriatric Rehabilitation – GeReNet.Wi is a platform for cooperation between health services, institutions and all those involved in the medical and social care system in Wiesbaden. The intent is to ensure comprehensive and complete care for seniors living at home.
GeReNet.Wi is funded with public money. The office is located at the Department of Social Services in Wiesbaden.
There is also an advisory committee consisting of members of relevant bodies, professions, organizations and institutions, which meets regularly.
The secondary research is done by the Institute of Gerontology at the University of Heidelberg.
The main focus of the GeReNet.Wi is on geriatric at-risk individuals living at home. Due to the concurrence of functional limitations, social impacts and financial restrictions there is a multimodal requirement for different treatments and thus an integrated, multidisciplinary care system.
The measures developed in GeReNet.Wi are intended to improve the communications and cooperation in care for the elderly requiring assistance in the home in a comprehensive and sustainable way.
The quality of the network and its effectiveness is ensured by ongoing secondary research by the Institute of Gerontology.
